CARTAGENA; THROUGH THE EYES OF DOWNDIROAD
Greetings roadies!
It seems like the only time I pop up on this blog these days is after I hop off a plane! The last time I was here was after the crew visited Medellín, Colombia. Medellin was so much fun that recently I decided to check out the scenes in another popular city: Cartagena.
I enjoyed my time in Medellín a bit more, but I can safely say Cartagena was a quite similar. Though both areas have designated entertainment zones filled with tourists, I found Medellín to be a bit more textured, with way more options and cultural diversity. A lot of the enjoyment in Cartagena was limited to the Walled City and Getsemaní areas, which meant lots of crowding from tourists and lots of pandering from locals trying to sell something.
We spent about 6 days, going through a few restaurants and tours. It was a good experience but still left me yearning for a bit more. Overall, it was still a great trip, and many memories were made. I can’t wait to hop on another plane!
