Yowwwwww! St. Elizabeth, Jamaica! I didn’t familiarize myself with the parish affectionately called St. Bess until 2017 on a drive out to Negril. The south coast of Jamaica is a gem of beauty I tell you! It’s the last #DownDiRoad with Sasha (*thug tears*). We went to St. Elizabeth for the day & made a few stops. J. Charles Swaby’s Black River Safari – sick tour of the Black River with nufff crocodiles & wild birds! Floyd’s Pelican Bar – the famous bar made of stilted driftwood, located in the middle of the Parottee Bay. Very “wavvyyy” Jack Sprat Seafood & Pizza – The famous restaurant at Jakes Hotel in…

The Longboarder – Surfer’s Paradise

Boom! Another week another adventure! Check out the newest episode of #DownDiRoad below, but please stay for the full story & photo gallery of our adventure.   When last have you been somewhere new? Are you living your best life? I think I’ve been doing pretty well at new things, but there is so much room for more. At one point in my life I used to make New Year’s resolutions, but these days I like to make LIFE resolutions. I mean, why wait when you know what you want? One of my recent life resolutions is to simply, ‘do more.’ I don’t pride myself on material objects. I have…

Wah gwaahn my side?!? So yea one more #DownDiRoad this time we went to Mobay. Well actually, we went to pick up a friend from the airport & his flight was cancelled so rather than call it a day wasted, we made the most of it! If you’re ever in Mobay please go to the Pork Pit! And last but not least, Starbucks! A lot of talk has been made about Starbucks, but in my opinion I think it’s a good move. It’s all local based coffee, and it’s adding foreign exchange to our economy I have no qualms.  Thanks for the support & remember to subscribe to the Youtube…

Tessellated & Friends – The Vibes LIVE

#downdiroadLIVE – TESSELLATED & FRIENDS Waddup peeps?!? Long time no see!  You must be living under a rock if you’ve never heard the song ‘Pine & Ginger.‘ If you don’t start humming along to the melody when you hear “me a drink pine & ginger! 🎶” blasting through a speaker what are you even doing bro??? Last Friday on December 15th, the young collaborators Tessellated, Amindi K. Fro$t and Valleyz made their debut performance to a sold out 700+ crowd at the Barbican Beach Bar. It’s both crazy & fulfilling to know that their first performance of this song together, was in Jamaica before the home crowd which inspired the song the…

F&B Downtown – Fine Jewellery Meets Fine Dining

Have you heard about the Downtown Kingston revival? There is a LOT happening Downtown. It might have started with Digicel building their headquarters there, but with the recent redevelopment project headed by the Urban Development Company (UDC), there is construction being done all over.  Look around and you’ll see new buildings rising up everywhere. From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, & the GraceKennedy Limited corporate office, to right on the waterfront where you’ll see the new Victoria Pier Food complex redevelopment project. Downtown Kingston is well on it’s way to becoming a hotspot again.  A few weeks ago I heard about this fancy restaurant Downtown.  “Downtown? Fancy?”…

Life Yard – The Heart of Fleet Street

You can view the newest episode of #DownDiRoad right below, but I implore you to stay and read the article as well as view the photo gallery!     Fleet Street, Parade Gardens, Kingston Jamaica. If someone mentioned the community of Parade Gardens a few years ago, if you even knew of it you’d probably just associate it with that one word…. “ghetto.” I mean, based on the socio-economical conditions that determine a community falling in that category, Parade Gardens fits the description, but what you need to realize is that this community is a ghetto paradise. There are a group of young men who grew up in the community,…

Crêpes with Trace – Tea Tree Crêperie

So boom, Tea Tree Crêperie & Treehouse Bar! Tea Tree I have to say is a very nice spot off Lady Musgrave Road in Kingston. As the name suggests, Tea Tree specializes in crêpes. They describe themselves just like this; “Tea Tree Crêperie & Treehouse Pub is a Cordon Bleu style Hot Spot and the first of its kind in Jamaica. Though we specialize in amazing sweet & savoury crêpes, we offer an incredibly varied menu that includes classic breakfasts, gluten-free as well as vegan delights, tantalizing desserts, quiche, salads, Blue Mountain coffee drinks, blended and specialty drinks, top shelf offerings and many more hearty goodies by Chef Maree and the…

Devon House – It’s Not Just I-Scream

Devon House, Kingston Jamaica.   When you hear the words Devon House the first thing that comes to mind is ice cream. I mean that’s what Devon House is world famous for right? Before it even made it to all the “Top-Ten ice creams in the world” lists, Devon House had been serving both locals & tourists their world famous ‘i-scream’ for over twenty five years, but take a deeper look at this National Heritage site & a broader picture starts to form. In my earliest memories of Devon House, I remember going for ice cream on Sunday evenings with my family, and in my later years hanging out on…

Greetings & salutations jenkle people!! Food Food Food! The third staging of the week long Jamaica Food & Drink festival has come to a close and based on the reviews on social media, it looks like it was a hit! The festival consisted of 7 events, but the team and I only made it out to Meet Street which we have done every year since the inception of the festival. Personally, it’s a joy to see the growth of local brands as the years progress, and it’s great that the organizers have created a festival like this with different themed events catering to people from all walks of life….
